Women's Rock Weekend is an intensive and fun-filled introduction to the
basics of rock for women of all ages. Participants get instruction on the
instrument of their choice (electric guitar, bass, keyboards or drums), learn
new skills in a variety of workshops, practice together with other women as
part of a band, and then show off their new skills at a final showcase called
the Big Gig. Fees include all equipment, meals and snacks, and a Saturday
evening party. Not only is the weekend a lot of fun, it's also RC4G's most
important fundraiser for our summer programs for girls - all proceeds go to
camper subsidies and our equipment fund.
WRW 2009 - our second annual event - was a great success and raised
almost $2500 for RC4G's summer programs for girls. Check out the bands'
performances below and take a look at our photo page.
We'll be doing it again next year, so check back for details on dates and
fees. If you'd like to be added to our WRW mailing list, send us a message at
rc4g@sympatico.ca or give us a call at 705-748-4987.
