ROCK CAMP NEWS - AUTUMN 2010

WOMEN'S ROCK WEEKEND SET FOR OCT. 16 & 17
Registration is now open for Women's Rock Weekend 2010, which will take place October
16 & 17 at Sadleir House. WRW is a two day crash course in rock 'n roll for women. It's a ton
of fun, and a important fundraiser for RC4G. All staff volunteer their time for the weekend, so
your $300 registration fee will go to our camper subsidy and equipment purchase funds. No
previous musical experience is necessary and you don't need to bring any gear.

RC4G 2010 ANOTHER ROCKIN' SUCCESS
Four hot new bands rocked the stage at Sadleir House on the afternoon of Aug. 13, marking
the end of our tenth ever session of Rock Camp for Girls (not counting Jam Camp sessions).
Then, the following Friday, two more bands and several other ensembles took the stage at
The Spill Cafe for the RC4G 2010 Session 2 Big Gig. Thanks to everyone who helped make
our fifth summer of Rock Camp for Girls a continuing success.

YOUR JUNK = OUR GEAR
We raised almost $500 for gear and camper subsidies at the Great Gilmour Street Garage
Sale on May 29. The
n we bought a bunch of gear -- a new Ibanez micro bass (sparkly purple
-- yum!), new patch cords, tuners, etc. We were also able to add some money to our subsidy
fund, which helped five girls attend camp this summer.

KARA-OINK-E DRUMS UP DRUMS
Our second annual KaraOINKe fundraiser at the Pig's Ear Tavern raised just over $400, and
we got to go shopping for drum equipment. We bought some badly needed new skins for
several kits, as well as sticks, a stick bag and a new drum throne. We also purchased used
cymbals from several local musicians who had gear to spare
. Thanks to John and Lee at the
Pig's Ear for their support
, and to Adam for helping us get all the new gear assembled and
ready for camp
