ROCK CAMP NEWS - FALL 2011

MARCH BREAK CAMP IN HAVELOCK
Yes, RC4G is going on the road! We'll be running a March Break program for girls 10-17 in
Havelock. However, we are NOT handling registration. If you are interested in signing up,
please contact D'Arcy Bowker at 708-748-8830, extension 3834.

RC4G 2012... AND OTHER EVENTS
We've had a great 2011 and now we're looking ahead to next year. Summer camp will run
Aug 13 - 17 (Session 1) and Aug. 20 - 24 (Session 2). Registration will open in the New
Year, likely around the end of February. We're also planning our annual Kara-OINK-e
fundraiser at the Pig's Ear and a matinee show at The Spill -- dates TBA. Stay tuned. Hope
everyone has a rockin' holiday season and we'll see you in 2012!

EC/GC ... S'Peg-Etti ... The Blackout ... YOU ROCK!!
Three stunning new bands strutted their stuff at the Women's Rock Weekend 2011 Big Gig
on Sunday (Oct. 23) at Sadleir House. Both TV Cogeco and CHEX News came to cover the
event. Watch for TV Cogeco's in depth story on Focus, airing Wed., Jan. 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Thanks to everyone for a very fun and funny weekend, and for your tremendous support of
Rock Camp for Girls.

RC4G 2011 A BLAST AND A HALF
Once again this year, girls from age 10 to 17 rocked Sadleir House in the heat of the
summer at our sixth annual Rock Camp for Girls. Here are some of the great new bands that
emerged from the two weeks of rock and roll -- Swirl Girls, Party Rockers, Rapid Rock, Ms.
Understood, Metaphorically Speaking, The Now... I mean, come on! Thanks to everyone who
helped out -- our fabulous interns (Niki, Mary, Lia, Quinn, Leina), our volunteer staffers
(Moe, Kate), our performers (Kristen, Jasher, Kate), our load in/load out crew (too numerous
to name!), our business partners  (Maar's Music and Roland Canada deserve special
mention) and everyone else who pitched in, donated cash or gear, or came out to watch the
girls at the Big Gigs. Dates for next year will be set soon -- stay tuned.
